PRESENTMENT OF
NUISANCES
1810

Borough of Carnarvon to wit:

The Jurors Sworn to Enquire Between our Sovereign Lord the King and the Body of the said Borough, do Present

That the Dunghills laid down on Penditch and at the Entrance into Hall in the Wall Street is a nuisance

That Buildings are erected on the Ancient High Way leading into the town of Carnarvon, and the Gateway called Green Gate, has been inclosed - and we conceive that no Rent is paid for the same

That a small building is erected near the Saw-pit, by the New Quay, which we consider an encroachment on the Property of the Corporation

That a Hogstye is erected adjoining the House on Maes Glas, which we consider an Encroachment on the Property of the Corporation of Carnarvon

That the Reservoir from which the Town of Carnarvon is supplied with Water, was in a very Bad state as to repairs, when examined about Nine Days ago, but now the same is under repairs

That the gutter the North side the Road at the Top Northern Penrallt, opposite Twthill Field, is quite filled up, that, the Water which should run down that side of the Street, runs down the Middle of said Street, and Dunghills are made, from the upper Houses on the north side of the Street by the fence of Twthill field which is very disagreeable to the Neighbours

That there is a very Dangerous hole in the High way leading from a place called Turf Square towards Bangor, near to the Corner of a house called Boot Bach in Bangor Street, in the Town of Carnarvon, and which has been presented last year, but not yet repaired (q. who to repair this)

That the Wall and Bank of Earth, opposite the Old Boot Stables, is fallen down into Bangor Street, nearly opposite the (Feath..) Door, and has prevented the Water from having its Course along the gutter, so that it flows into the Middle of the Road, and must be a very dangerous place in Frosty weather. This was presented last year but no notice has been taken of it, nor Nothing done by the overlookers of the High Ways, nor by Lord Newborough's Agent

That in regard to Buildings Erected between the Crown Inn in the town of Carnarvon, and the Bridge leading over the River from the Timber Quay, to a Place called Turkey shore we are not acquainted whose property those Building are erected on, and beg leave to request Your Worships to enquire into the matter, whether it belongs to the Corporation or not

That Branches are fixed to the Main pipe that Conveys the Water to the Conduits for the supply of the town of Carnarvon, by several Persons in South Penrallt, without obtaining leave from the Officers of the Borough

That it is reported that Many Huxters and persons who Trade to Liverpool, do purchase Butter, Fowles and Eggs before persons bringing those things to Market, can reach the Market place, by meeting them in the Suburbs of the Town, coming to Market
