Rowland Wynne, Esq., Gentleman, very rich, who was heir to Glanrafon fawr, where he lived, he also had a house in the town, of the same name, in Castle Street, which is still known by this name today; he died in 1691.

After him his nephew, S. M. Williams, Esq., His Majesty's Attorney General for North Wales, came into the inheritance; he married Miss Hephziba Williams, Conwy; they died childless; her third was Y Cwirt, Anglesey, and many other places; he died on the 26th. April, 1769, aged 65 years. He left the inheritance without debts, besides which, he left a large amount of money, which came into the possession of his descendant, Capt. Joseph Williams, in 1772; who quickly, through carelessness and wastefulness, spent it all, and the inheritance fell to Chancery. He was buried at Llanbeblig in 1813. Presently, Glan'rafon fawr, and part of the inheritance, is in the possession of D. M. Allen, Esq., Cefnyrhendref.

Colonel Wynne, brother of Lord Newborough, and uncle of the present Lord, and his sister Frances, lived in the house known as y Twr, on the North-Eastern corner of Market Street; his wife was the sister of Mr. Pugh, Coetmor.

A relation of his was Mr. George Bettis, who used to keep the Sportsman Hotel, in Castle Street, later taken over by his son, George; who then moved to the Uxbridge Hotel; and then was Overseer to Lord Newborough, he died in the house he had built himself, where he lived with his mother, on the North-Eastern corner to Bangor Street. The daughters of Mr. George Bettis, Sportsman Hotel, sisters to Mr. George Bettis, Uxbridge Hotel, was the wife of Henry Rumsey Williams, Esq., Penrhos, and the wife of Robert Williams, Esq., Attorney, Bangor Street.

Capt. Garnons, of the Army, used to live in the house presently occupied by Mr. James Rees, in Castle Street, who died childless; Richard Garnons, Esq., who came after, also died without issue. Morris Owen, Esq., and his widow after him, lived in the house in High Street, on the sea side corner of Shirehall Street: part of his estate went to Mr. Humphrey Owens, Llety.

William Jones, Esq., who married Miss Evans, of the Hampton family, Henllys, Anglesey; went to live in Hasley House, Northgate Street, and later had a large house built in Shirehall Street, next door but one to the Jail. He was very successful, and became a well-known Merchant. The Rev. Robert Evans, Tre'rgof, Anglesey, vicar of the Old Church, and Mr. Henry Evans, Bwlan, Overseer for Bodegroes, brothers of Mrs. Jones, came to stay in Caernarfon, where they died; and left a large inheritance to their sister. His son was the Rev. Henry Jones, Deputy Mayor under the Marquis of Anglesey, whose portrait can be seen at the Council Headquarters; Mr. Lloyd, Maes y porth, was the Deputy before him, and Colonel York before him. Dr. William Roberts, Uxbridge Terrace, was elected to follow the Rev. Henry Jones.

The family lived in Shirehall Street until Ty Coch in Bangor Street was built by his son, the Rev. Henry Jones, The children of the Rev, Henry Jones, Ty Coch, are: Catherine, Brynteg; Anne, wife of the Rev. Robert Newall Whitaker, Vicar of Whalley, Lancashire; and Jane Hampton Jones, of Whalley. His grandsons, sons of his daughter Mary: Henry Jones Manley and George Manley, Ty Isaf, Llanfihangel, Lleyn; the children of his son William: Henry, Margaret, William, Anne, Richard, Mary Anne, and James, Pwllheli.

William Morgan, Esq., Cae-cinnamon; his son: John Morgan, Esq., Hen Fank, Caernarfon.

William Turner, Esq., Parciau cochion, the owner of Diphwys Quarry, Ffestiniog, and partner of Thomas Assheton Smith, Esq., at Dinorwig Quarry. His children: William, Merchant, Liverpool; Thomas, Wine Merchant, Caernarfon; Llewelyn, Attorney, and Caernarfon Borough Mayor; Jane, widow of Counsellor Walker Jones; Eliza, wife of Robert Jones, Esq., Doctor, Bron yr hendref; Agnes, wife of John Morgan, Esq., Hen Fank, Caernarfon; and Anne, widow of Mr. Knyvett. His grandchildren, the children of his son Henry: William; Henry Rumsey; Charles; Josephine; and Emily Jane; and the children of his son John: Edward; Isabella; Frederick; and Alexander.
